Car history:

A great majority of this car is original and was restored 2005! It is its factory color of Honduras Maroon with 94,949 original miles on the odometer! It had a frame on restoration done on it approximately 20 years ago that was done leaving the original paint on the car. Then in 2005 the current owner had it stripped and painted. The paint looks fantastic! The car has not had a bunch of aftermarket pieces added and nothing original taken away, with the exception of the carburetor (the original carb comes with the car). The car was bought by the current owner from a NCRS judge who genuinely loved the car. The car was sold by Wright Brothers Chevrolet in Clarksville, TN on march 6, 1962 for $4665.95 and has only ever been tagged in TN, showing it to be a true, really nice, southern car with no rust! The car is much much nicer than your average driver classic Vette. It is not at 100 pt car, but make no mistake, this is a VERY, VERY nice car that you can get in and drive anywhere and yes you could show it as such. In 21 years, the current owner has put less than 15,000 miles on the car and has taken very good care of it.

History...

The 1962 model year was the last Corvette with a solid-rear-axle suspension that was used from the beginning. With two new engines it was also the quickest. Engine displacement increased to 327 cubic inches, but dual 4-barrel carburetor engines were no longer available. Hydraulic valve lifters were used in the base 250-hp and optional 300-hp engines, solid lifters in the optional carbureted 340-hp and fuel-injected 360 hp (268 kW) versions. Rocker panel trim was seen for the first time, exposed headlights for the last, until 2005, and the last year with a trunk until 1998.
Vette belongs to a private seller who is a good friend of mine. This is the most documented car I have ever seen. This is the first time in 21 years the current owner has been willing to sell the car and it is an amazing car. We wanted to shoot a quick video of him starting it for everyone to see. It starts up great, doesn't smoke, leak, drives out beautifully, etc. Someone will be fortunate to own this car. The car was last owned by a NCRS judge who gathered the history and documentation the car now has with it. He did not want to sell the car at the time but needed to do so, which says a lot about the quality of the car. The car was left untouched up through the time of him having it. The car was beautifully restored in 2005 to it's current condition (it carried its original paint until then).
This car has the correct numbers, 327 (340HP) Small Block and original 4 Speed running through its original 3:70 rear hitting the ground through a set of the newer whitewall BF Goodrich Revelation P205/75R15/97S/M+S Tires. Everything is correct. On top of having all of its correct components, it is 100% mechanically sound. It is only driven for Sunday drives in nice weather on a regular basis. It drives like a dream. Its a true time capsule into what these cars were meant to drive like and how they were meant to be experienced! Also coming with the car is the original carb, which was removed just because they can be a bit temperamental and on the car currently is an Edelbrock carb.

Below is a writeup the last owner wrote about the drivetrain back in 1990:
A correct 340 HP engine was built in 1987 using a correct 3782870 block with a January 5, 1962 casting date. Block has been bored 30 over and fitted with forged TRW 1.25:1 pistons, steel crank ground 20/20, and a new 098 Duntov cam and lifters. Heads are 3782461 with all new valves, guides, springs and three angle valve job. A new clutch disc, pressure plate, and thowout bearing were installed. The original flywheel was resurfaced. New drive shaft U-joints were installed. Car has been driven less than 5000 miles since engine build. Transmission is original T-10 with VIN stamping. Block pad has not been re-stamped. A complete under hood restoration has been done. In addition to a correctly built 340 HP engine (not the original block) all other components are either the original stuff or correct NOS or reproduction including the original correct aluminum radiator, generator intake manifold, dual point distributor, radiator expansion tank, ignition shielding, exhaust manifolds, windshield washer, etc. A all reproduction or NOS pipes (with correct crossover), all new reproduction hangers and clamps and reproduction off-road mufflers.
